Abstract

In this digital era, the use of digital technology has become an addiction among students. Nowadays, many students are relying on different digital technologies for solving academic problems. However, the extensive use of these technologies may lead to academic burnout. Therefore, this study aimed to highlight the influence of digital addiction on academic burnout. Moreover, it has investigated the moderating role of academic passion in the relationship between digital addiction and academic burnout. The data were gathered from 54 students and analyzed with Smart Pls 4. The results highlighted that digital addiction positively influences academic burnout. Whereas academic passion does not moderate the relationship between digital addiction and academic burnout. The findings of the study can act as a guide for educational leaders, academicians, and practitioners aiming to reduce academic burnout.
