Abstract

The adoption of ICT and AI in the delivery of education to adults is redesigning the shape of education and assessment, especially within the hospitality and business management unit within the further education colleges in the UK. As with every technological development, this paper focuses on the impact of these features on the teaching-learning process, course content, and assessment. Adopting digital tools and strong artificial intelligence systems helps educators design special instructional delivery systems that mirror the learner's and his/her preferences. The application of AI in student assessment improves the assessment process's effectiveness and reliability; the process results can be provided immediately to the learner with information about the learner’s performance. Also, the application of digital technology in the curriculum contributes to valuable character development, such as digital skills, application of knowledge, and flexibility, as a result of competing dynamic business environments. However, there are such questions as the digital divide issue, AI algorithm bias problems, and the need to establish professional learning for educators continuously teaching with technology. Hence, this research calls on other education institutions to adopt digital technology and AI as key enhancing factors to enhance literacy among adult learners, building competencies in students for today’s dynamic job market and creating awareness of continued training in the hospitality and business industries.
