Abstract

Financial transformation of Nigeria is a fast-paced digital transformation that is being propelled by online and mobile banking channels that promote financial inclusion and economic development. Non-compliance with regulations, data breaches, and fraud are also cybersecurity risks that emerge out of this transformation. The paper will discuss how Quality Assurance (QA) plays a crucial role in enhancing the cybersecurity of digital banking in the Nigerian digital banking system. It points to the fact that effective QA systems, including secure software development life cycle, vulnerability testing, compliance checking and ongoing monitoring, can avert cyber threats at their source. The research also examines the specifics of challenges present in Nigeria including a lack of cybersecurity skills and infrastructural deficiencies and a roadmap of aligning QA and cybersecurity practices to increase trust, resilience, and adherence to regulation. The results highlight the importance of QA as a strategic tool of secure, reliable, and sustainable digital banking practices.
