Abstract

The results of “Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programs in schools with a variety of demographics are examined in this data-driven study. Emotional intelligence, social skills, and the ability to make responsible decisions are the goals of social and emotional learning (SEL) programs. The study's overarching goal is to examine how these initiatives fared in improving the mental health, conduct, and academic achievement of adolescents from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds. This research uses a systematic review and meta-analysis to look at how SEL results vary in rural, suburban, and urban areas, as well as how variables like socioeconomic status and ethnicity affect these results. While there were notable differences according to contextual variables, the results showed that SEL had a favorable effect on student outcomes generally. In order to make SEL programs as effective as possible, the study stresses the significance of adapting them to the specific needs of various student populations. Furthermore, the article delves into the consequences for educators and lawmakers when it comes to creating and executing inclusive and efficient SEL programs. This study adds to our knowledge of social and emotional learning's (SEL) potential to promote academic and personal development in a variety of classroom contexts by offering an in-depth evaluation of SEL program results. Future SEL program development and policy decisions might be guided by the study's conclusions, which aim to encourage holistic student development.
