Relationship Between Skill Development Programs and Entrepreneurial Behaviour of First-Generation Entrepreneurs in India

This study explores the relationship between skill development programs and entrepreneurial behavior among first generation entrepreneurs in Delhi NCR and Haryana, India. Despite the recognized importance of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth, first generation entrepreneurs face unique challenges that can impede their business success. This research aims to examine how participation in skill development programs influences the entrepreneurial capabilities and outcomes of these individuals, with a special focus on the differentiated experiences of male and female entrepreneurs. Employing a quantitative approach, the study analyses data acquired from responses of semi-structured questionnaire, to assess the effectiveness of skill development initiatives. Regression Analysis and Person Correlation was calculated using IBM SPSS. Preliminary findings suggest that skill development significantly enhances entrepreneurial skills, with variations in impact observed based on gender and regional differences. The study also identifies specific barriers encountered by first generation entrepreneurs, proposing targeted interventions to enhance the efficacy of skill development programs. The results contribute to the broader discourse on entrepreneurship education and provide actionable insights for policymakers and educators to refine and improve support mechanisms for nascent entrepreneurs in India.
