The Role of Physical Education in Preventing Childhood Obesity

The increasing frequency of childhood obesity over the past several decades has made it a major public health problem across the world. recognising the vital importance of PE in combating and avoiding childhood obesity. Examines the many ways physical education (PE) may help combat childhood obesity by encouraging healthy lifestyles, developing fitness habits for life, and reducing the prevalence of unhealthy eating patterns. Genes, food choices, and lack of physical activity are just a few of the many variables that contribute to the epidemic of childhood obesity. Physical education (PE) is now recognised as an essential part of a holistic plan to fight this pandemic. Physical education (PE) programmes in schools have the ability to combat obesity from a physiological and behavioural perspective by including regular physical exercise into the school day.
