Management accounting plays an important role in strategic business decision-making by providing managers with financial and non-financial information for planning, control, performance evaluation, and resource allocation. Unlike financial accounting, which is primarily directed toward external reporting, management accounting is designed to support internal decision-makers and can be adapted to the specific information needs of an organization. This paper examines the role of management accounting in strategic decision-making, focusing on strategic planning, cost management, budgeting and forecasting, performance evaluation, and competitive decision-making. Modern management accounting techniques can help managers evaluate alternatives, understand cost structures, assess profitability, manage resources, and respond to changes in competitive and economic conditions. The paper also considers the influence of digital technologies and business analytics on management accounting practices. It concludes that management accounting can strengthen strategic decision-making when accounting information is timely, relevant, reliable, and integrated with broader organizational and market information.
